The Play-by-Play

What makes OSE different? Well…

There is a paradox in the medical profession: no one wants a visit to the doctor. Doctors can be some of the most compassionate, intelligent, problem-solving people society has to offer…so why do we dread visiting them so much? Because usually visiting the doctor means something is wrong. Here at OSE, we want to sooth your worries. We don’t want you to think of talking to our doctors as an ordeal; We want you to feel cared for on a human-to-human level. We want you to feel confident going into our office that we are the right choice for you, and that you want us to fix your sore spots. Taking care of our patients is our top priority every step of the way. Take a look at our play-by-play of before, during, and after surgery through the practical side of getting an operation.

Before surgery:

It can take between 11 to 16 years to become a doctor, demonstrating incredible dedication to healing people. They train most of their early life, trading parties and booze in college for late night study sessions and organic chemistry. Surgeons learn to fix everything from small aches and pains to big ticket items.

Of course our doctors are highly qualified, but they have that X-factor that makes extraordinary: our doctors like to make our patients feel as comfortable as possible with their doctors before, during, and after surgery. Before you even walk into our office, you can access information on your doctor, your surgical procedure, and you payment structure online. At OSE, we understand how nerve-wracking it can be planning work, school, family, and friends around a surgery, so we want everything to be as convenient as possible for our patients before they get to our tables.

During surgery:

There will always be a team of doctors and nurses available to answer any questions you or your loved ones can come up with prior to the procedure. Remember: OSE doctors have more than the minimum of 11 years of experience, so you can rest assured that you will be under the best supervision with the most professional surgeons Birmingham has to offer. We aren’t like House or Grey’s Anatomy. We leave the drama to the actors and try to get the job done as quickly and effectively as possible, so you can get back to a new normal.

After surgery:

With every procedure, patients are given a list of DO’s and DON’Ts. Not to mention the amazing resources we have available on our website about your operation. Not only do we want to give you as much information beforehand, but we want you to hold us accountable afterwards! Fill out our “Patient Satisfaction Survey” to let us know how your experience went-it will help us know what we’re doing well and in which areas we can improve. Medicine is a dynamic industry-always changing, always improving. So why shouldn’t we? Send your thoughts, concerns, and questions to us! And although you might be scared of talking to us, we’re looking forward to hearing from you.
